II. Organizational Context and Scope |
||
The Caribbean is a region with countries of origin, transit, and destination, with unique and identifying characteristics that define the nature of migration: geography, languages, isolation, and interdependence, among others. Economic, political, ethnic, and linguistic diversity in the region have made migration coordination challenging. The Regional Program on Migration, funded by the US Department of State Bureau for Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) seeks to improve the capacities of the States of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean in working towards a humane and sustainable migration governance. The Program is comprised of four pillars: Migration Management; Regional Dialogue and Partnerships; Migration Crisis Management; and Communication for Development. |

III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities |
||
Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, based in Costa Rica Regional Office of Central and North American and the Caribbean, and direct supervision of the Regional Program on Migration Program Support Officer for the Caribbean, based in IOM Guyana, and in coordination with the Program Communication Unit, in, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
