The Fight Against Trafficking in Persons: the Role of Hotel Staff and the Importance of Having Global Data

The Mesoamerica Program interviewed the expert Courtney Walsh of Polaris, an NGO that fights against trafficking in persons, during the International Congress against the Crimes of Trafficking in Persons and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Minors associated to Travel and Tourism that took place in Costa Rica in September of 2017.

In this second interview, Walsh speaks about the fundamental role of hotel staff and the tourism sector to detect possible victims of trafficking. She also commented about the relevance of the new repository of data online (CTDC) built in collaboration by Polaris and IOM to determine a realistic measure of TiP.
